初回こそビギナーズラックで 126 というスコアだったのだけど、そのあとはスコア悪く思うようにいかない。
昨日の土曜日は、日本からＹＪさんがいらっしゃっていたので、ＭＳさんと3人でＷｉｌｌｏｗｓという近所でゴルフしました。ＹＪさんは確か９０くらいで、ＭＳさんは１１０くらいだったかな。それに比べて私は 138 :-)
前回の英語トレーニングでお決まりの今週末は何をするの？って聞かれたので、
I'm going to go to a golf next Saturday.
なんて言ったけど、文法的には正しいけど、そんな言い方はしないとのことでした。
I'm going to a golf. とか I'm golfing. と、will とか be going to は省略するのだ。
確かに聞いたことはあったけど、自信なくて使えなかったんだよね。
それ以外には、そうだ F から始まる熟語の練習をしたのだった。
- fill in (1. seperable): add information to a form.
Fill in a form で、何かのフォームに記入すること。Fill in はフォームの一部、例えば住所、名前とかサインとかを書くことをさし、Ｆｉｌｌ out というとフォーム全体を書き上げるような意味になるとのこと。
- fall through (no object): not happen (something that was planned bu didn't happen)
We had originally intended to go to Japan for our vacation, but our trip fell through when I got sick."
- fill in (on) (2. separable): supply information that somone doesn't know
I wasn't able to attend the meeting yesterday, but I understand that it was important. Could you fill me ini? / Could you fill me in on what was discussed?
- fill in for (inseperable): temoporarily do someone else's work: temporarily subsititute for another person
The teacher is in the hospital and won't be able to teach for the rest of term. Do you know who's going to fill in for him?
